[Kenwood] RE: best all round rig

Having owned a couple '830s I agree with Chuck's comments and
observations.  However, I sold them years ago and bought a complete
Yaesu FT-102 station, including the FV-102DM external digital VFO with
memories.

The '102 is also a hybrid like the '830 and also hears very well. 
Like the '830 it is easy to tune but has three (3) 6146 finals!  The
FV-102DM is exceptionally stable and has more memories than the
VFO-230.  Also, its reads out the frequency to two (2) digits after
the decimal (14.195.00 vs 14.195.0).  Did I mention that the FT-102
has TWO analog meters?!  What's not to like about this rig? :)
