[Kenwood] TM-271A programming cable

Hey guys, I don't get it. I was all excited about
programming my 2M mobile with the use of the PC programming
cable and then I looked up the price, $80!  WOW!  That is
half the price of the rig. How in the world could a cable
cost so much?  Even if the connectors were made of solid
gold it could not cost that much.

Is anyone aware of a copycat cable or one that I could
assemble? Most likely the circuit in the connector is simple
to copy. The mic connector could be harder to find. Anyway,
give me your thoughts.
