This is true, of course, but in the Yaesu FT-100 group on Yahoo, someone
collected the settings from a few FT-100s and posted them, to give users a
general idea of the ballpark settings.

For instance, if someone had collected this data on the 870, three of the
rigs checked could have had a particular value set at 33, 37, and 29. This
would tell the poor guy that if his is set at 99, he would be better off
to lower it to the 30-range and see how it does.

Just an example to illustrate that it is not such an unreasonable
question!
