[Kenwood] KW-440SAT all dots

I guess I got the PLL blues here, my 440 displays all dots. It 
momentarily displays
freq. when setting or freq. changes are made but reverts to all dots!  I 
guess I'll
have to do the dissassemble and clean/resolder routine on the PLL. I've 
never
been inside a 440 so is there a help page or anything to guide a first 
stab at it??
Anyone want to play 'elmer' on tis one?  I'm 70+ and getting slower than 
molassas
up hill in winter, but willing to give it a shot.  Any takers?
