John, I have made comments here before and
as I have a TS570- suggest anything except it
for noise suppression. The blanker is virtually
useless, Kenwood doesn't respond when I
made inquiry, and not only does it not work
on power line noise (mine averages 25-30db over
s-9 at all times, 80 thru 20), I can hear vehicles
with ignition noise up to a quarter mile away.
My backup vintage rig is the only one that
has a blanker that can touch the noise and
that is a 25+year old Tempo (Uniden) 2020.
I had a visitor a few months ago and he had
an Icom 706 in his vehicle and its blanker
was no match for serious power line noise
either.
Good luck in your search and should you
be successful, do post it to the list.
