Many stations will even play back a recording of your audio.
On-air playback is OK for a general idea, but remember that after your
signal leaves your station, it then is subject to propagation, goes thru
the receive filters of the other station, is subject to any distortion or
coloration of the IF stages, is affected by the match between the other
receiver and the recorder, is influenced by the frequency response of the
recorder, passes thru the audio circuit of the other transmitter
(frrequency response again!), then thru the other rig's filters and
transmit circuits (IMD, possible overdrive, processing if used,) has to
be propagated again, and then passes thru the filters and circuitry of
your receiver and speaker system. Your audio passes thru the air twice and
a total of four times through IF/AF systems.
Chances are none of this happens perfectly!
