[Kenwood] SM-220 question???

I did a bit more study of the TS-930 schematic. The IF output is from the 
last IF, 100khz. Why? Who knows?
The BP-5 would do nothing either. I believe it's made for 3.x mhz. 
For some reason, Kenwood skipped the 930 for use with a band scope. I 
checked the schematic for the 940. It has an isolation amplifier tapped 
off the 8mhz first IF and feeds to IF output #2. 
The 930's manual had me fooled. It actually shows a picture of the SM-220 
plugged into the IF out jack!!! 
I believe what I'll try is tapping off the 8mhz IF with a 20pf capacitor 
and feeding the scope. Hopefully it won't load down the IF amp. If this 
works, I'll just connect that useless IF port up to the mod and use it 
that way.
