Hi, have recently acquired a TS-940. I need a manual, but notice the =
radio
has the following problems.

(1) Memory functions don't seem to work. I am assuming memory functions =
are
similar to a TS-440. When pushed, the MS button beeps three times and =
the
light flashes twice, but nothing happens. The PG.S button beeps, but
nothing happens. The HOLD, M.CE, M.IN buttons are dead. Pushing the =
VFO/M
button yields a blank screen with three dots, but the receiver memory
refuses to accept any entry. ENT and M.IN buttons have no response, and
memory locations 0-9 can be selected using the keypad, but they are all
blank. Could this be due to a bad diode on the function pad? Banks 1-4 =
can
be selected with the top slide switch, but they are all blank. The =
battery
in the digital compartment measures 2.98 volts, the one in back of the =
clock
display 3.3 volts.

(2) There is probably a PLL problem, when the receiver heats up, it cuts =
out
briefly. There is a section of circuitry underneath the radio that has =
some
sort of glue applied. The TS-440 had a problem where this material had =
to
be removed and replaced. Is this true also of the 940? (s/n 80902XXX) =
 Or
could this be a solder problem?

(3) I have resoldered connector tabs on the power regulator board and
adjusted the fan, but have never seen the power supply fan turn on. =
Does
the radio have to be very hot to make it operate?

Any shared experience will be greatly appreciated.
