Hi, Randy and Zig

Thank you for your suggestions!   Randy's memory-entry worked, which means I
simply don't know how to run the radio.  It still has PLL problems, and Zig,
am in the process of downloading the manual.  Think it is a poor solder
joint somewhere, but may be PLL alignment.

Anyway, thanks again, your notes were right on the mark!

the operator's manual.  I think they also have the service manual, I
managed to download it.

I bought my TS-940 in July, and so far I like it.
