[Kenwood] Kenwood Packet Modem...?

Does anyone know how to contact the manufacturer of the Tasco Radio 
Modem that Kenwood uses in their TM-D700a radio???  Kenwood is not real 
forth coming about providing info on contacting one of their suppliers 
directly.  The original ROMs supplied in the Tasco Radio Modem are a 
little short of being fully AX.25 Lvl II, Ver 2.0 compliant and I would 
like to find out if any upgrades are available or planned.

(I believe the same modem is used in Brand X [Alinco's] Dr-135TP.)
