I saw a posting on this list last year for the source of these bulbs as
Pacific Coast Parts for the TS-520S.
I found a similar bulb that works fine. Radio Shack has a mini-lamp bulb with
1 3/4 inch leads, red and white. They are rated at 12V @ 25 ma. The cost in
$1.29 each. Part number 272-1141A. I installed them for the meter which was
no problem except for taking off the plastic type holder from the old bulbs
and putting them on the new ones. These have been working fine for 3 years so
far.
Now my problem is to replace the bulbs behind the analog dial. The vfo is in
the way and almost impossible to get at the bulbs. It looks like all the
knobs would have to be removed and the front panel taken off to get at them.
Does anyone have a clue on how to change the bulbs? I would hate to remove
the front panel only to find out that I still would not be able to get at the
bulbs.
Thanks,
