Greg, not sure about the 870, but most should probably be ran=0D
at the same spec as RTTY, which is usually, but not always 50%=0D
(or less) output for full duty cycle. That info should be in the=0D
manual under RTTY operation.=0D

Greetings,=0D
I realize this may open a can of worms, but does anyone know for sure=0D
what the transmit duty cycle is for a Kenwood TS-870 operating digital mo=
des=0D
via a sound card? Is it 50% or higher. The reason I ask is I was on 20=0D
meters play RTTY and an LU could not copy me at 20 watts. I cranked it up=
to=0D
100 watts and he had no trouble. I would rather run at low wattage but=0D
whatever it takes to make the QSO. All help on this is appreciated.=0D
