I have a 940 that has several problems that a friend is working on for me=
=2E I
think he is going to try and modify it so the fan runs all the time. Even
with it operating properly, it seems pretty hot to me. The manual states
that it comes on when it reaches a certain temprature, but mine always fe=
lt
too warm to me even when it was just idling. This is the PS fan I'm
referring to. =0D

Jim - I also own a Kenwood TS-940. Not sure on the first part(s) of your=0D
issue, but the question "the fan on my 940 will come on even when I'm not=
=0D
transmitting"...to me this is normal. As I recall, the 940 has two fans..
one=0D
on the power supply and one on the finals...if I turn mine on & leave it =
on
for=0D
a period of time a fan does turn on...I'm assuming this is the power supp=
ly=0D
fan....there are times the fan will continue to run even when I turn the
unit=0D
off...I'm assuming this is to cool the power supply or the finals down..
that's=0D
OK by me. I see no issue with this.=0D
