Is your antenna ok?, perhaps with weather changes a fault connection is
made evident, and so the higher swr. Don't forget to adjust Car control
so as to have a useful output power level for AT working also.

Both conditions, you must push Auto/Through to Auto, and AT tune to on,
but anyway AT starts its operation if SWR detected is more than 1.3 or
so (as indicated in service manual), although this level could be
calibrated to a higher one; a lower value for this (if you pretend 1.1:1
or a perfect 1:1) may lead to a non stop working of tuner motors,
because of its mechanical inertia, gears, etc.
There are two preset potentiometers inside to adjust this threshold. I
advice to adjust them only if you have the skill and necessary
instruments.
