If the signal you were copying was really big (lik S9+40), consider that
the keyclicks could easily have been down 40dB as required by the regs and
*still* be S9.
And if you're using the noise blanker, you're going to pick up all sorts of
crap from other signals. Any time you think someone is "splattering all
over the band" the first thing to do is turn off the noise blanker and see
if it goes away. If so, it's your radio and not the other station.
So are you sure you weren't hearing things, Dave?
