Dave,

OK

I'm going to check my sigs anyway...I use an old oscilloscope for
that....I've done it before with other rigs and ended up modified them.

I didn't see it that way. :))

Over the air tests are just one way, but not very reliable unless
the listener really knows how to listen for clicks. The ARRL
handbooks and some QST articles have well documented the
subject.

I've sed it before...if there is something wrong with the radio,
like key clicks, take it back to the store....a good reason for
buying locally, not to abuse the system, but to get a good
radio.

It has some things I don't like....list too lengthy to get into it here.

A lot of that depends on the filters being used and the strength
of the signal the receiver is "allowed" to hear.

I know the rig will transmit on TWO frequencies when in the
"split" mode, esp on 10 meters.

Might as well turn the NB off if signals are strong....good signals
overwhelm just about any impulse noise, like that caused by
electric fences and the like.

might be worth while...I don't know....but the cost for shipping alone
will probably be near $100 round trip.
