I did know Frank Mitzel.  I think he was there when I came and still there when I left.
 
If I ever get to the bay area, I'll take you folks up on the visit.   I live outside of Chicago right now.  It seems real strange that nothing is left of the club house, antennas or whatever (or most of the base for that matter).  Oh well - progress!
 
I can hardly wait to see a high-rise out there that then starts sinking into the bay.
