Phil,

The "Yaesu" software and cable are made by RT systems. You can check them
out at rtsystems.com and can buy from them directly if you wish. Their
updates are free also but it is first rate software and use them for all my
Yaesu rigs (both HT and mobiles) and programming. Their new version 4 only
works with their USB programming cable. It does cost more than $15 but had
good success with their products. They have been doing it for approx. 15
years now.

Subject: [K3PZN-List] FT-8900r Software, USB-din cable?

I picked up a Yaesu FT-8900r but I need to know if the club/users has/have
standardized on any particular memory management software for the rig?

I found software and a cable at

http://www.universal-radio.com/catalog/fm_txvrs/0890.html

for $38 I don't even know if there is another option. Also, I can't believe
it is all that difficult to make the cable, on the other hand buying the USB
cable and a mini din-male connector might price it at the same cost as
simply buying one. I looked at the clone cable (has anyone made on yet?) and
it is two wires, ground and one data line.

Any ideas or advice?

tnx & 73 de ke3fl
Phil
