[K3PZN-List] Harford WMD Exercise Wednesday 12 July

Greetings All;

On July 12, Harford County will be having a WMD exercise. Pat Scolla, 
WB0EGR, the EC/RO is requesting help from other jurisdictions with the 
exercise. The controllers of the various groups participating in the 
exercise will be given their instructions via amateur radio. You may 
contact Pat directly at wb0egr at arrl.net to let him know you are able to 
come to help or with any questions. Five to seven trained operators with 
portable stations and HT's are needed. Staging will begin around 1000 and 
help may be needed until late afternoon. Participation in all or part of 
the exercise will be most helpful.

This exercise sounds very much like what we've done here in Carroll for the 
past two years. Training in supporting other counties has been identified 
as a key goal for our section, since the number of volunteers available 
during a weekday may not be enough to make each county self-sufficient. 
ARES/RACES groups need to rely on adjacent counties to provide mutual aid.
