Bart, Keith, John,  & Travers:

Thank you for the responses.  I'm glad to see that you found my epistle
interesting enough to answer.  Only Bart got in a jibe about the radio being
free.  I was not complaining, however, only trying to state the facts.  It's
should be at least comforting to prospective buyers and owners to know that
I got all of the rotten apples from Yaesu, so you all should be trouble
free.

The more that I use it, the more that I like it.  I "loaned" my Kenwood
TH-79A to a very cherished ham friend (Novice) who is convelescing after
surgery.  At least he can listen.  I also bought him the Tech and General
Study guides, so perhaps he'll upgrade, in which case I'll probably wind up
giving him the radio.  Maybe I should take a closer look at the VX-7R as its
replacement...

Keith: that's why the old buffaloes refer to the rubber duck antennas
supplied with HT's as "flexible dummy loads".  Anyone have a suggestion for
a good after market HT antenna?
