Please allow a "newbie" to throw in my two cents...

In many jurisdictions, ARES/RACES operators are an integral part of the
local EMS system. In fact, the ARES/RACES operators carry ID cards issued
by the county, city or town fire and police departments.

In my opinion, this is much bigger than "Gamber" we need to take this issue
up the feeding chain possibly past the 'commissioners' and, if need be, on
to Annapolis. It is time we got the respect we deserve. We must make it
known that we can be counted on to respond at a moments notice and that,
even though we are "amatuers," we will provide communications systems that
the professionals would be proud of.

Let's face it. We're definately not in this for the money, sex, drugs or
rock and roll. We are in this as volunteers who want to help our community
and surrounding communities. It is our way to give back to our
neighborhoods. It is our way to help support our troops by providing
communications specialists on the home front while they are fighting for our
freedoms and security.

Okay, I'll get off my soap box now. Sometimes I get a little carried away.

73's,

Keith Krichinsky, KB3HHK
