Thanks Dave, for your continued support, and Chuck with your help on getting the “cans” tuned and setup! Was on the radio today 4 separate times through-out the central and northern culverts of Calvert.......no come backs, but repeater sounded great (.985).At the rate we use the Moto, it should last another 45 years!! Sounds very good and time spot on! Come on guys and gals, not much fun talking to yourself on the repeater.....next thing I will be getting a notice from uncle for broadcasting! Please help!

While I am email rag chewing, here is an interesting observation for today. I needed to some geotagging photos for the County today. Here is what I had to operate with, my cell phone with gps app that works very well, my camera with internal gps, garmin foretrex, Yaesu FD 1 and FD 2 handheld, and an icom ID 51. Well the yaesu radios never connected to the satellite. The camera only connected 1 time. The phone connected 3 times, the garmin connected pretty well at 7 of 10 locations. Now this is Calvert outback not roadways, with culverts, swamps and heavy woods (tree canopy), you know typical for where we live and play! (Not town-centers). Well the icom Id51a connected 10 of 10! Was ready to go as soon as 1 minute after power on. Did not drain battery in 2.5 hours!
Thought the garmin would do better? Expected as much for phone and camera. But what good is a hand held with aprs and gps locator, that wont find three satellites? Could not depend on that for ecomm! Wouldn't want that one for search and rescue!
Guess the yaesu hts will be next on the sell list.
Next time out will be checking two kenwood hts the old 72 and the new Dstar kenwood ht.
Hope they do as well as the icom.
Well get back to what ever you are doing, have fun this is a great summer in Maryland!

Sent from my iPad,
Best Regards,
