[Johnson] Johnson T-R Switch Receiver muting

Thank you.  The manual does state that if you want muting, you have to 
come up with your own.  You put it much more succinctly.

My question was in two parts:  if you muted, how? and if you didn't, 
what did you do?  Your answer is that you just put up with the loud 
sidetone.  The other answer so far is to use the volume control.

I had hoped that since this switch seems so popular, judging by the 
rising price, someone had come up with an elegant muting solution.  So 
far, it looks like QSK was the goal and other considerations were minor.

What I wanted was an RF sensing switch so I didn't have to push the PTT 
button to activate my current relay based T/R switch while keying.  I 
don't think the Johnson switch can be made to serve my purpose.  Too 
bad.  It's cool to have all Johnson accessories with a Ranger.
