All: Kim's right on track. Divide and conquer.
I always find it helpful to start with the resistance measurements (and do
them ALL, not just part of them...don't GUESS where the problem is). Follow
that with the voltage measurements. Then step back and digest what you see
from both sets of measurements, with schematic in hand so you'll be able to
think through what a varying measurement really means (is it just a resistor
out of tolerance, or is it something substantial?).
After that, start with power supplies and work forward from there. Since
this is an RF problem, make certain the VFO is working as Kim suggests (and
check it on both 160/80 and 40/10...maybe it's quit on one band but not the
other). Go forward from there.
Above all: DON'T LEAP TO CONCLUSIONS (contusions?) about what's wrong.
Chances are you'll be wrong and you'll frustrate yourself. Along with this,
if you feel the frustration coming on, step away from the rig and go smell
the flowers. You can and will get the problem solved, and you'll learn
something in the process.
"Inch by inch, life's a cinch; yard by yard, life is hard"...that's what my
boss drills into my head over and over.
