Thanks much for the reply.

Tubes have been changed out.  VFO regulator tube is OK.  18K resistor is OK
(it's been changed out already).

Here's an interesting note: On 160, the unit pulls as the exciter knob is
turned EVEN WITH THE DRIVE ALL THE WAY DOWN.  The pulling gets worse as
drive is advanced, but it's still present with drive completely off.
Further, the same thing happens on 40M, but it's not as pronounced, and on
any other band the pulling is minimal.

This is suggesting to me that the bias line is not completely RF-free, and
that the keyer tube may be influencing the VFO rather than just turning off
and on as it's supposed to.

More digging, I guess.

Anyone else have other suggestions?
