[Johnson] Valiant VFO drive

O.k. Dave:
Did you change out the tubes? What about the supply to
the VFO? My suggestion is to double check that keying
circuit and follow the directions of the manual. The
bottom line is that the VFO shouldn't pull (btw, stick
an xtal under that xtal cover and try it there just

I have had a Valiant II and used it on 40 meter CW
with absolutely no problems. Instead, I have had
complements.
