All: I have read a lot of back and forth on this. I've been doing CW for
about 38 years like some of the older folks, but I can't support the
conclusion that ham radio is going to die because there's no CW.
Ham radio is always going to reflect the overall values of the society at
large. If the society is lazy and shiftless and not concerned about quality
in their work, their play, and their lives, then ham radio will be the same.
If on the other hand the society cares about what it advocates and cares
about excellence, then ham radio (with or without CW) will reflect that.
Ham radio cannot be a "refuge" from the rest of the world.
If you want ham radio to be an excellent place, work on the attitudes and
values of the society.
Just my own thoughts.
