[Johnson] Soft-start mods

   Anyone ever put in a 'soft start' or 'inrush limiter' in one of the 
larger Johnson rigs?  Just curious.

   My friend has a 500 - it "bangs" pretty good when keyed, and my Valiant 
tries to jump off the table once in a while. (Good thing it weighs so 
much!).  Both of us are using solid-state rectifiers in the HV side.

   I know of many commercial inrush snubbers - just to cut down on that 
'switch closed near peak in cycle' stress - hmmmm - maybe even a 
'zero-crossing' switch in the HV primary circuit....
