Thanks for data - that was the info I needed.
I already had done an "alignment" per the manual. I wasn't all that impressed
by the instructions. Kind of vague in all the wrong places. Especially on T2
with references to voltage which as far as I can tell are practically
meaningless in conext of actually getting the radio working.
However, even at 30 watts, the audio in USB,LSB and DSB sounded good. But the
power was still the issue.
I checked all the tubes after the balanced modulator - again. All good.
Stumped, I hooked the exciter output to a dummy load, powered it up and
decided to take a dive.
Powered the unit up in CW on 80, still 30 watts out. I tweaked the top core
on T2 - up it shot to 60+ watts. I then turned the unit on the its side and
peaked the bottom core - bang! up to 110 watts it shot. I did'nt think the
plate meter would ever move over that far!
I'll go back and check ineraction on the other bands but for right now I got
it where it needs to be.
