Mark-I have an Invader 200, not the 2000, and after an alignment it easily
puts out 100W on all bands but 10, where it drops to 80W or so. Check the
output power on 40 M. If it's considerably higher than on 80, the most
likely cause is alignment of the inductors used for exciter tuning (there's
a step in the alignment that verifies this adjustment on 80M). When I first
bought my Invader 200, the output was about 3 dB lower on 80M than on the
other bands. If you go through an alignment, I highly recommend that you go
through the entire procedure in the order listed in the manual. Some of the
adjustments interact more than you might expect.

Wondering if anyone has measured the output power of the exciter in a
Viking
Invader 2000. I measure about 30 watts out CW on 80 meters. A little low?
