Mike:
Here is a possible solution (I did this before with a Drake TR-3): I wanted to use 1 mic for different rigs. A D-104 is just about ideal for SSB gear as it is for AM gear. Also, you are correct that those mic connectors just don't fall off of trees anymore like they did back 25-40 years ago. Even my NOS stock of those Amphenol mic connectors has long since gone.
So, I just adapted a 1/4" stereo phone plug to the the mic and made 2 other 1/4" female inline jacks connected to mic cables connected to rigs and their respective connectors. For the EFJ, I used the Amph. connector. For the Drake, I used an "L" type PL-68 connector (also found in Collins S-line equipment). The result was that I could now use 1 mike for two different rigs. In your case, you need more cable. Just disconnect the Amph connector and remove it from the mic, put in a male stereo phone jack, cut a piece of mic cable to length, solder the Amp connector on one end and a female phone jack on the other and enjoy! Want to make it semipermanent? Shrinkwrap the 1/4" jack/plug connector together.
Let me know what you think. Cal, N6KYR.

described my problem.
I have a D-104 I use with my KWS-1 and Valiant. Both rigs have a 2
pin offset female chassis jack to which the plug of the D-104, a 2 pin
offset male jack, plugs into. The mic is not long enough to
comfortably reach the Valiant and I would like to use an extension for
it too reach. I have several 2 pin offset male plugs to plug into the
rig, but what I need is a 2 pin offset female INLINE jack to receive
the mic plug from the D-104.
Now that I've probably confused everyone, including myself, can anyone
help with the connector?
