Thanks all who have so far supplied there thoughts on my membership
levels and other items. Seems that the lean is against and to maintain
our current KISS method, with perhaps a change to periodic elections.
I will chat with those JMS members I see at the AWA conference next week
about this. I also have seen, experienced and sometimes even understand
the power struggles within organizations, both clubs and business, hi.
I've seen them come from just about all structures, simple like ours to
complicated. Although simpler organization might allow faster remedies.
I guess for me I never considered the Senior and Fellow members of the
RCA to be any better, just that they were recognized for what they bring
to the group. I doubt that people would have disagreed with people like
Armstrong, Hock or .... being Fellows within the RCA. As far as
privilege the Senior or Fellow members had no more power within the
organization over other members. It was strictly a recognition of
achievement.
Bob made an important statement "I don't think it adds anything. The
best way to keep an organization going is to - somehow - keep members
active". It is that "somehow" that has eluded me. I am also realistic
in knowing that with any organization you have that core group who does
95% of all the work. That won't change much with any reorganization.
So part of my conversations at next weeks AWA conference will lean
toward how we can get that down to 85% and attract other members or new
membership to help advance this society forward.
Thanks again for your ideas es 73
