[ILQSO] stuff

Dave,
Speaking as a contester, I have seen FT8 pretty much ruin VHF contesting. Nobody hardly uses cw/ssb during those events. And, for myself and other contesters (guys who do more than the ILQP), the excitement of high rates and actually tuning the vfo and hunting stations is the whole draw to that part of the sport. In order for the guy who “doesn’t have access” to cw/ssb, there needs to be other stations on FT for him to work. When more stations go to FT instead of cw or ssb, the fewer there are for the serious guys to work at high rates (remember, this attracts us serious guys)…And that will turn to boredom and ultimately them (and me) not participating.
Plus, FT doesn’t allow for the prescribed ILQP county abbreviations for county line stations.
Lets be honest here…how many don’t have access to SSB? One? Two? Most every rig comes with a mic.
Just my 2 cents and explanation…
