I never heard of it. That's pretty outlandish to me. Did they confiscate
your radio(s)?
On the week of Thanksgiving I took my VX-6 on a bus trip from Champaign IL
to Kenosha WI. I had a 2-hour layover in Chicago and sat and chatted with
a couple people on the WA9ORC repeater. No one in the bus terminal
bothered me.
I planned on doing the same this Sunday on the same route for Christmas.
Should I not bother to get the VX-6 out?

The officer stated that my radio was illegal, and that I was doing all sorts of nonsense. There were 4 plainclothes officers total.

Upon showing them my license and ARRL membership card, they said it was Bull**** and that they were going to confiscate my stuff. Upon their search, they found on my person, a VX-170 2 meter HT as well. They said they had never seen it or heard of it, and reiterated their allegations without explaining the stop.
