The North Shore Radio Club will link its Winnetka repeaters November 10 for
the 8:00 p.m. CST net. Check in on the two meter repeater (147.345 MHz, +600
Hz, PL 107.2 Hz) or the 440 repeater (442.075 +5MHz, PL 100.0 Hz). However,
please check 2-meters if you don't hear us on UHF. It's suggested that the
operator pause for about a second after keying the microphone to allow the linkage to
pick up the request to transmit, especially on the 440 band.

In addition to local traffic, and John Wass with the local hamfest and
American Radio Relay League (ARRL) news, the NSRC net includes the RAIN report and
AR Newsline. The RAIN report for this week is "W2VU - A Lifetime of ham
Radio,"  Part Two: Rich Moseson, W2VU, was became a ham when he was a junior at
Spring Valley Senior High in Spring Valley, New York in 1970. Today Rich is the
Editor of CQ magazine and Editorial Director for both CQ VHF and Popular
Communications. Tonight the RAIN report presents Hap Holly's interview about Rich's
journalism background, and how his writing evolved into his being Editor of CQ
today.

Amateur Radio Newsline reports that the leader of the ARRL says well done to
those hams who volunteered in the wake of three killer storms.  Also, the S
SETI
Express satellite falls silent shortly after launch and hams in the U-K
literally vote against a lifetime license.

All licensed amateurs are welcome to check in. Check-ins are taken by net
control Hap, KC9RP, at the beginning of the net, between RAIN and Newsline, and
after Newsline.

73,
Marilyn Tschannen Gardner, W9LUO
