The North Shore Radio Club will link its repeaters December 15 for the 8:00
p.m. CST net. Check in on the two meter repeater (147.345 MHz, +600 Hz, PL
107.2
Hz) or the 440 repeater (442.075 +5MHz, PL 100.0 Hz). However, please check
2-meters if you don't hear us on UHF. It's suggested that the operator pause
for about a second after keying the microphone to allow the linkage to pick
up
the request to transmit, especially on the 440 band.

In addition to local traffic, and John Wass with the local hamfest and
American Radio Relay League (ARRL) news, the NSRC net includes the RAIN report and
AR Newsline. The RAIN report for this week is "Demilitarizing Collectible
Radios"  Five years ago RAIN Founder/Producer Hap Holly, KC9RP, spoke with a
gentleman at the Dayton Hamvention named Michael Crestohl, W1RC. Michael was deeply
involved at the time in working with the United States government to remove or
reclassify collectible surplus radio gear from its demilitarization list.
This week we rerun that 2000 interview.

Amateur Radio Newsline reports digital ham radio spans 2200 meters across
Canada.  The FCC affirms another $42,000 in fines against former ham Jack
Gerritsen and a poll to find out how you feel about the ARRL's Regulation
by Bandwidth proposal to the FCC.

All licensed amateurs are welcome to check in. Check-ins are taken by net
control Mark, WA9IVH, at the beginning of the net, between RAIN and Newsline,
and after Newsline.

73,
Marilyn Tschannen Gardner, W9LUO
