The North Shore Radio Club will link its repeaters December 22 for the 8:00
p.m. CST net. Check in on the two meter repeater (147.345 MHz, +600 Hz, PL
107.2
Hz) or the 440 repeater (442.075 +5MHz, PL 100.0 Hz). However, please check
2-meters if you don't hear us on UHF. It's suggested that the operator pause
for about a second after keying the microphone to allow the linkage to pick
up the request to transmit, especially on the 440 band.

In addition to local traffic, and John Wass with the local hamfest and
American Radio Relay League (ARRL) news, the NSRC net includes the RAIN
report and AR Newsline. The RAIN report for this week is "Collins Collectibles"
Part One  How many times have you heard the expression "One man's junk is
another man's treasure?" This adage applies  even to Collins radio equipment, the
Cadillac of ham gear for half a century. Today some restored Collins
transmitters, receivers and transceivers still command big bucks on the used market. One
Chandler, Arizona ham who knows is Bill Carns, W7OTQ, a former board member of
the Collins Collectors Association and long-time Collins collector.

Amateur Radio Newsline reports that California man is convicted in Federal
court of
radio jamming; the FCC issues a record-setting level of fines for indecency;
and a Massachusetts town looks at inviting more hams to move in -- and provide
emergency communications.

All licensed amateurs are welcome to check in. Check-ins are taken by net
control Mark, WA9IVH, at the beginning of the net, between RAIN and Newsline,
and after Newsline.

73,
Marilyn Tschannen Gardner, W9LUO
