I'll try the re-tightening thing. In the article you reference, it lists one of the symptoms as a crackling in the speaker. I don't have that. Does that alter your diagnosis?
On your FTP site, all the files are for Windoze except the manual. I use a Mac, and I have no idea what the .exes are for, so I'd be hesitant to run them
I'd like to know for sure if it's the mic or not. As I said in the previous post, I had already swapped the mic cord end for end and also re-crimped the RJ45s.
The HM-133S came packed with the radio which I bought new.
