Jamie, glad you took my 'suggestion' without flaming me! ha ha

I have a LOT of Icoms. The older ones, do have problems with lousy caps. I wondered if you have looked at Icom's Technical database?
It has a lot of good info there. I have had problems with caps in both my 761 and 745.
If you want to get into the 'test' mode, you can buy some great cap ESR testers. These will test small, electrolytic caps 'in circuit' without damaging and other devices.

I have a large restoration shop (specialize in boatanchor restorations). I have many (too many, actually) cap testers. Most of these older caps will show high ESR and cause problems. There are several companies that sell cap 'replacement' kits to replace these problematic caps.
When I was a PE with IBM, caps always had a much higher failure rate compared to other components..... I actually wait until I have a 'bucket full' of caps before I toss 'em. ha ha

Have fun.

ron

Hi Ron, thank you for your suggestion, of course recapping the Reg board is
among my tasks, but as I saw that Icom recommends to replace L11 with an
LW-16 I would like to do it because it does not look good, seems it has
received a lot of heat.
