[ICOM] IC-471A meter adjustment

I've never figured out how to easily search the mailman archives in one attempt, so I'm asking a question that may have already been covered.
 
When I put my IC-471A into FM mode and set the switch for FM "centering", the needle no longer centers, under no signal conditions it has drifted to the right by 10 or more needle widths.  I haven't been able to locate a service manual for this radio (anyone have a pointer to the service manual?) and while the user manual shows the various adjustment points for the meter, I don't want to just start tweaking pots without a reasonable idea of what I'm doing. Anyone know the recommended procedure for setting up the discriminator meter centering adjustment?
