Maybe Your problem is Sharp IS433 light detector in the sensor unit? 
This part is obsolete and no longer available. I had this problem in my 
IC-275. The solution was to use Sharp IS486. It is a little different 
size but fits and work properly. Sensor units in the IC-761 and IC-275
