[ICOM] CT 17 interface

Hi, I have been trying to get a IC756pro3 to work with a CT17 interface for my pal. The interface has a 25 pin D type socket/plug, will a 25 pin to 9pin adaptor work with it? I have been trying to get it to work to no avail. I am familiar with the rig as I have one, I built my own interface and it works fine, so I do know about baud rates, addresses etc. So does anyone know if the adaptors work please.
