Ken:

   I had the same problem broke the passband tuning knob. It is a double pot 
its about $15 from icom. It would be a much easier job if you can buy the 
pots already mounted to the little board they are mounted on. a real bitch 
to get off without a desoldering station. lots of screws to take out but you 
should be able to do the job in about 2 hours. I'm 57 years old and not a 
tech, but is not to hard if you a mechanically inclined.
