A good example of this is in the aviation industry which you think would be 
paranoid about gas tank gauge accuracy.  When I used to own a small plane 
it was explained to me that the only place the FAA requires that a general 
aviation gas gauge be accurate is when it reads Empty.  :)

To get back on Topic, the thing I like about digital bar meters is they can 
display peak readings a lot better than mechanical meters can.  I do like 
to have both, however, even if the analog meter is only a digital 
simulation, simply because that is what I am used to reading and judging 
performance by.
