[ICOM] Pro series, portabilty, and more (was: re: info needed please)

Unless you are thinking about a PROII or III  (for size) you should stick 
with the 775.  A lesser radio will not make you happy.

I had a 775 and compared it's performance to my PROII.  If I could hear the 
DX on one, I heard it on the other also.  Paralleled the antenna to both 
radios.  The PROII has more bells and whistles but I seldom if ever use 
them.

The only reason the 775 went away was I found it difficult to operate both 
radios in a SO2R setup.  I was used to the PROII ergonomics and could not 
get used to the 775.

The current owner of the 775 seems very happy with it, as well he should be.
