Dan,
The SB230 has high voltage at the keying jack and the 756PRO has a 
tiny reed relay that switch's to GND the linear key line..that reed 
relay cannot handle that voltage at all.
The reed relay will need to be replaced and you will need to use a 
interface between the SEND jack and the linear keying jack.
