I have serial number 03965 of the IC-02AT.

I can confirm the the duplex sequence is:

Set the frequency:

*  Press "A" (CLR/STOP)
* Press the last four digits of the frequency. IE "6" "9" "4" "0" for
146.940. The decimal point will disappear when you press the first
digit in the sequence, but reappear on the fourth digit, indicating the
proper programming of the receive frequency.

To set the duplex:
* Press and hold the FUNC button for the entire key sequence below. Its
located on the left side of the radio, above the PTT switches.
* Press "7" (SHIFT)
* Press "*" for - or "#" for + offset. On the keypad, the - is
indicated by the down arrow, the + is indicated by the up arrow. On the
display, the - or + symbol turns on, confirming your keypress.
* Press the last four digits of the offset frequency. Typically, you
press "0" "6" "0" "0". Once again, the decimal point disappears when
you press the first "0", but reappears at the end of the last "0",
indicating a proper offset entry.
* Releast the FUNC button. The offset display clears, and you're
returned to the VFO receive frequency.

Now, if I can only find my IC-2AT. I "recovered" it when I sold my old
car and found it under my driver seat. Then, I brought into the house,
set it down, and it prompty scampered under a stack of papers or
something......maybe its hiding in the parts box. I know it's not
hiding yet in my new "go" bag, which I'm putting together after our
recent earthquake on Oct 15 and the mild tsunami of last Wednesday. The
02AT and the 2AT are the darn best walkies for any emergency comm "go"
bag.  They never quit.
