I used to have luck by placing a small jumper between the PTT and Mic Audio
ground. They are seperate in the rig and most of the mics. I would instruct
users to install that jumper in the mic connector on the end of the mic cord.
That worked very well for IC-735's when operating mobile as RFI seemed to be a
common  issue. One might try doing the same thing on the SM-6
