[ICOM] Turning up SSB power on 756PRO

Hi Guillermo,

Even 120W is a bit high. To prolong the life pf the PA output devices and
keep IMD to an acceptable level, power output should not exceed 100W.

Cheers for now, 73,

Another approach is to feed a 1 KHz audio tone at the mic input,
adjusting mic level and tone oscillator audio output to the point where ALC
meter just begins to show the smallest indication. Here you read the
wattmeter indication. Past this point, where ALC begins to work you will
obtain a only few more watts, but power output will tend to stay at a fixed
level, which in my opinion, to be acceptable should be no more than 120
watts.

Best regards
