Hi Gary

I thought you may be interested in how I made out with the 775 that had low 
output on the higher bands and the tuner did not work.

The root cause of the low output was a partially defective Q32 in the RF 
Unit.  It had gain, just not enough.  It put out 1.25vpp on the lower bands 
with 170mvpp on the base.  This with the Power Amplifier not plugged in at 
J8.  The replacement device puts out 8.4vpp under the same conditions.

I replaced the detector diodes in the tuner and it worked on some of the 
bands, but not all of them.  So I redid the service manual's tuner alignment 
and now it doesn't work anywhere.  So it's back to Icom for the tuner 
repair.
